New Players to the Club
New players to the club are invited to submit an expression of interest in joining the Cats.
Due to club policy surrounding player numbers, all new memberships are subject to approval based on expected numbers. This includes transfers from other clubs, and new members into the club.

Program Changes in 2024
There are no age group changes in 2024. All years are “.5” years (where the age group cut-off is 1 July, not calendar year). For convenience, the majority of clubs just call the age group by it’s base name – ie Under 15.5s is called “Under 15s”)
A National Participation Framework has been developed with aims to increase engagement and retention of players playing our game. There are a number of recommendations put forward, however in 2024 AFLQ have only made the following:
- Under 11 Mixed – 13 minute quarters instead of 15 minutes.
- Under 13 Boys – reduced maximum team size of 20 (was 22) – 18 on field by default, 2 interchange
- Under 13 Girls – increased maximum field size to 140m x 100 (was 130m x 90m)
- Under 15 and Under 17 Girls – reduced maximum team size of 19 (was 22) – 16 on field by default, 3 interchange
